Here's a recipe for ricotta stuffed shells:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound jumbo pasta shells
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
2. Cook the pasta shells according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
4. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
5. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned, about 10 minutes.
6. Add the crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
7. In a large bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese, the Parmesan cheese, and the parsley.
8. Stuff each pasta shell with a spoonful of the cheese mixture.
9. Spread half of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
10. Arrange the stuffed shells on top of the sauce.
11. Pour the remaining sauce over the shells.
12. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese over the top.
13. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
14. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
