Classic Lasagna

 



  Hey everyone 🖐!  Here's a recipe for Classic Lasagna 😋😋

Ingredients:

- 1 pound of ground beef

- 1 onion, chopped

- 2 cloves of garlic, minced

- 1 (28-ounce) can of crushed tomatoes

- 2 (6-ounce) cans of tomato paste

- 2 tablespoons of white sugar

- 1 1/2 teaspoons of dried basil leaves

- 1/2 teaspoon of fennel seeds

- 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning

- 1 tablespoon of salt

- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

- 4 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley

- 12 lasagna noodles

- 16 ounces of ricotta cheese

- 1 egg

- 1/2 teaspoon of salt

- 3/4 pound of mozzarella cheese, sliced

- 3/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese




Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.


2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.


3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.


4. Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, white sugar, dried basil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley to the skillet. Stir until well combined.


5. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.


6. In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain the noodles and rinse with cold water.


7. In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, and salt. Mix well.


8. In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of the dish.


9. Layer 4 lasagna noodles on top of the meat sauce.


10. Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the lasagna noodles.


11. Add a layer of mozzarella cheese slices on top of the ricotta cheese mixture.


12. Sprinkle a layer of Parmesan cheese over the mozzarella cheese.


13. Repeat the layers of meat sauce, lasagna noodles, ricotta cheese mixture, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese.


14. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.


15. Bake the lasagna in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.


16. Remove the aluminum foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.


17. Let the lasagna rest for a few minutes before serving.
