Apple pie

 


 Apple pie is a classic American dessert that's perfect for any occasion. Here's a recipe that you can try:


Ingredients:

- 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)

- 6 cups of thinly sliced apples (about 6 medium apples)

- 3/4 cup of sugar

- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

- 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg

- 1/4 teaspoon of salt

- 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

- 1 egg, beaten

- Coarse sugar, for sprinkling


Instructions:


1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).


2. Roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.


3. In a large bowl, mix together the sliced apples, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.


4. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared pie crust.


5. Dot the top of the apple mixture with the pieces of butter.


6. Roll out the second pie crust and cut it into thin strips.


7. Place the strips of pie crust over the top of the apple mixture in a lattice pattern.


8. Brush the beaten egg over the top of the pie crust.


9. Sprinkle coarse sugar over the top of the pie crust.


10. Bake the pie for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.


11. Let the pie cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
